Developing a Vision

These are facilitators notes for a visioning workshop. The purpose of the visioning is to gain views from a wide range of people - residents, workers from different agencies, businesses, schools- on what they would like their local area to look like, be like, smell like, sound like and feel like in 5 years time. This is then examined to find common ground that can be put together to create one vision.

This is an idea generation tool using lateral thinking techniques to make new connections which can lead to new opportunities for people working in projects or enterprises. It uses a varied supply of magazines to stimulate interest, imagination and new thinking.

  Pictures Tool (DOC 125kb)
This a lateral thinking tool which uses free association to prompt you to generate trigger ideas and then to generate multiple associations from the original idea.

  Defining Wealth (DOC 116kb)
This will help participants define what wealth means to them. It will provide learning about different perspectives on wealth and help understanding of different priorities and values within a group and the wider community. The responses can then be used to ensure that Local Alchemy supports the kind of wealth creation that people value.
